Isn't there such an event being advertised on this forum? Hmmm..... too bad I don't live in the area. That might be fun to try. Although I'd probably want to build the Baku rather than a three-stage self-destructing missile. But they both sound very interesting, and I found a couple of interesting paint jobs on the X-17 using Google image search.

The Centuri "Argus" was modeled after the X-17; they should have included instructions to fly it "SCALE".
Seems to me as long as one is not specifically aiming at a target or in an unsafe area, one could fly a Scale rocket in a POWR-PRANG manner if scale and still suit the letter of the safety code.
Recovery system would be EXTERNAL, and would consist of a Shovel, Broom, and Trash Bag.
Sounds plenty good enough to me.
I would like to see someone try this at a NAR SANCTIONED launch.
Naturally, if I was the RSO, I would say if docs. are in order, "NO PROBLEM"

, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC !

Yeah, but flight damage points would be a killer...

How could one be charged flight "damage" points when the full-scale flight profile has the vehicle ramming the earth ?
That's absolute bunk.
One should get a flight BONUS for accurately simulating the full-scale flight profile by powr-pranging it back to earth.
They can't have it both ways just for some mamby-pambyness.
This might be worth joining NAR and attempting in a contest just to stir the pot.
Seems the mamby-pamby rule regarding live payloads is bunk too...you could simulate the Little Joe flight with a monkey far more to scale with a live payload and recover it than dead weight.

Stuff delay charges! Upscale to a BT-101 and use a position switch to detect nose over to 80 degrees, then ignite a three cluster of 24mm motors to really drive the point home

Sounds good to me !
The only thing more entertaining than a powr-prang of somebody ELSE's rocket is a DELIBERATE Powr-Prang ! (As long as no humans/animals are injured)

When I printed this plan off the JimZ site using the default Windows Picture and Fax Viewer it came out just a bit larger than the original. The wing should be 87 mm from root edge to tip................my printout was 89 mm.

Just a heads up for the purists................

Joe
