Patriot Finished!
Comrades!
I finally finished it. The picture is my Estes MGM-109 Patriot missile on the paint stick in this evening's blue Texas sky. The kit was upgraded with balsa conduits, cardstock antennae and a 15" parachute because this thing ended up being a real sled. This was one of the early runs of the kit that was built up of multiple body tube sections and had a laser-cut fin that was too small. It's BT-60 size for 18mm power. Paint is Duplicolor primer red, primer white and primer black with Rustoleum Camouflage Khaki. The whole thing got a coat or two of Rustoleum Matte clear. Lots of masking, no decals. The kit is more or less 1/10 scale. I used the NAR drawings and photo pack to "clean-up" the kit. I believe the paint job depicts an operational round. I'd build another one . . . but only with a one-piece body tube

Looks great. If that's an operational paint scheme, then I like it much better than anything else I've seen.
