I have been checking out your progress. Looking good! I was wondering if you were going to leave the fins with a smooth finish or etch in the panel lines?

Sorry, no etching in the panel lines.
I've tried this before and it always looks like etched balsa!
The grain doesn't cooporate with a dull knife blade or whatever you use draw the panel lines.

I looked at many pictures of the real V2s. What stood out were the servo pods and the vanes in the low outside corner of the fins.
The panel lines were more subtle, like the metal skin was pulled in around the internal framework.

There was some compromises. I didn't airfoil the fins. One hard landing and it would tear up the sharp taper.
Anyway, I'll try to add a few details.

The model will be painted in the White Sands scheme.

Thanks for stopping by the blog!
