Tripoli Motor Testing Certifies 38mm RMS Reload Adapter System, Five New High-Power RMS Reload Kits

The Tripoli Motor Testing (TMT) committee of the Tripoli Rocketry Association (TRA) has tested and approved a number of new AeroTech products.

38mm RMS Reload Adapter System
The previously-announced 38mm AeroTech RMS™ reload adapter system (P/N 38RAS) is now TMT-approved and allows the use of shorter (lower power) RMS reload kits within a specific motor casing, reducing the number of cases necessary to fly a wide range of AeroTech reloads. Customers will save money and expand the versatility of their existing 38mm RMS hardware at the same time. The reload adapter system includes the "floating" forward closure, a standard retaining ring and two case spacers. MSRP is $29.99.



N3300R-PS Reload Kit For 98/15360 Hardware
The largest of the newly-certified reload kits is the eagerly-anticipated N3300R-PS (P/N 14330P). This Redline™ propellant reload delivers a total impulse of 14,041 newton seconds during a burn time of 4.4 seconds, with a peak thrust of over 950 pounds. Propellant weight is 7,338 grams and the loaded weight is 12,054 grams. The N3300R generates Redline's signature intense laser-red exhaust plume with highly visible "mach diamonds". It fits AeroTech, Dr. Rocket™ or Rouse-Tech™ RMS-98/15360 hardware and is offered at an MSRP of $798.99.



75/5120 and 98/7680 KEB Signature Line New Blue Thunder Reloads
TMT also certified two core-burning Karl E. Baumann (KEB™) Signature Line™ reloads, the 75/5120 M1780NT-PS (P/N 13178P) and the 98/7680 M1845NT-PS (P/N 13184P). Both reloads use AeroTech's high-performance New Blue Thunder™ formulation which delivers a specific impulse in the 220-224 second range, and produce a beautiful lavender-blue exhaust jet with distinct mach diamonds. The M1780NT-PS generates 5,783 N-sec of total impulse over a burn time of 3.1 seconds with a peak thrust of nearly 600 pounds. The M1845NT-PS produces 8,308 newton-seconds total impulse with a burn time of 4.4 seconds and a peak thrust of about 550 pounds. Propellant weights are 2,480 grams for the M1780NT-PS and 3,718 grams for the M1845NT-PS. Loaded weights are 4,715 grams and 6,682 grams respectively. MSRPs are $239.99 for the M1780NT-PS and $428.99 for the M1845NT-PS.



J99N-P Endburning Reload for 54/852 Hardware
A new end-burning KEB Signature Line reload was approved, the 54/852 J99N-P (P/N 10099P). This Warp-9™ propellant motor delivers 945 newton-seconds total impulse with a burn time of 10.2 seconds. The initial (peak) thrust is 32 pounds gradually tapering to approximately 17 lbs just before burnout. Propellant weight is 480 grams and the loaded weight is 899 grams. This reload requires the use of a new 54mm aft closure that accepts the smaller 29 & 38mm molded nozzle inserts, P/N 54ACCSN, and a 54mm forward closure bulkhead plug, P/N 54FCBP. The new 54mm aft closure will also be used on a number of new and redesigned 54mm reload kits to be released in the near future. MSRP for the J99N-P is $79.99, the small nozzle aft closure is $39.99 and the bulkhead plug is $19.99.



New 38/1320 Motor Case and J510W-L Reload
Finally, TMT tested a totally new 38mm RMS motor configuration, a 38/1320 motor case (P/N 3813CA) loaded with a J510W-L reload kit (P/N 10510L). The 38/1320 motor is essentially an "11-grain" design and is 23.0" in length. However, the J510W-L reload actually uses six (6) longer White Lightning™ grains and produces over 1,162 newton-seconds of total impulse with a burn time of 2.2 seconds and a peak thrust of 250 pounds. Propellant weight is 640 grams and total weight is 1080 grams. The new 38/1320 motor case includes a forward seal disk and will retail for $89.99. The MSRP of the J510W-L reload kit is $79.99.



AeroTech anticipates that shipments of the new products to its dealers will begin within 2-6 weeks.
