Default Star Snoop Fin Size?

Does anybody have the length of the fin root? I have a pattern but no scale for it. Thanks!

Using the line drawing as a 1:1 reference, the root is 1.875" weak. The image says it was a "trace-around", so you need to sand it smooth just inside the edge of the line.

Thanks, I was guesstimating 1.750" so I was at least close. If you don't mind me asking, how did you get the 1:1? That is the fin pattern (fixed the link ) I'm using but measuring it on the screen or from a printout got me a size that was clearly too big for a 5" BT.

I opened the image up using GIMP and sent it directly to the printer. The resolution is 300 DPI. What you have to do is make sure the application you're using isn't scaling the image up or down in size before printing. You want it to print at 100% full size.

If you don't have GIMP, go download it (free) from THIS LINK. This is the latest version 2.6.11. It's an "open source" clone/copy/work-sorta-like to Adobe Photoshop.

Ahhh you gimped it.

Very handy, I'll have to remember that trick when there's no scale marked on the fin pattern. Thanks for the edumacation. You rock!

It also helps when you 'know' the posted images are supposed to be at full-size to begin with.

BTW, that resolution of 300 DPI is 'common' to most scan postings on JimZ and YORP. It's a good compromise resolution that gives clean lines and clear text.
