Q: What do you call a Pacer with all its windows broken?
A: Totaled. That is my constructive contribution to this thread. Also, although AMC's designs were... let's say "a bit out of the mainstream", they were way ahead of their time with the 4WD Eagle. At the time, a 4 wheel drive *car* was a crazy thing. It was years before the industry caught up to the idea. |

One of my best buddies in college really loved the AMX. He actually bought an old beater with the intent of restoring it. Funds were tight in school, so I don't know what ever came of it.
I do know he wound up an extra in the garage scene in Ricky Bobby .

A local family that has been in the junkyard business for generations are AMC AMX/Javelin enthusiasts. They still drag race one AMX and one Javelin, drive a few Javelins, and have dozens and dozens of donor machines. Of course, they have influenced a few locals and there are three or four more that park at the local Sonic on Sundays. I'd say for our size town we probably have about the highest AMX/Javelin to human ratio of anywhere in the USA.
