Looking for Fireball XL5 construction plans
I'm interested in attempting my own HPR Fireball XL5 construction. Does anyone here have plans and or info available related to Fireball XL5 construction that they're willing to share? This is what I've found so-far:

This site has free plans for a nice paper model. Seems like you should be able to make it fly. Been in my round tuit pile for a year or so.

I do not have my copy handy to look it up, but I seem to recall there are plans for the Fireball XL5 in the Spaceship Handbook from ARA Press. Bill |

No plans there, only a short discussion. There are rough plans for some of the Thunderbirds in an appendix.

It's what I need...this looks a candidate for a BT-60. Not sure where there is a precut transition that long, but perhaps you could maintain a parallel BT all the way to the cone.

While we are on this tack - has anyone seen anything resembling a drawing of Anastasia from Dan Dare? I have a small white metal model, but if there is anything a little larger I think I cna go from there. The thought first crossed my mind when building a Quest M2Q2 and the elliptical formers.

I remember this show from when I was a kid, although I was pretty young. I also recall my dad buying me a plastic model of it, which I thought was very cool. It's one of the earliest models that I can remember from my youth.

Use an internal core of BT-50 and a paper transition (think Sat1B LEM shroud) with plenty of centering rings. The BT-60 and the paper shroud then just become the outer "skin". Also, look at the design from a smaller perspective. It's just a Gyroc with bumps and an upper vertical spine. As long as the proportions are kept similar to the Gyroc, the model should fly reasonably well. Watch the CG and CP margin (use the BT-60 as a reference diameter), and add ballast if needed.
