Default Last Semroc order?

If it is, I made it a good one. The parts came today for a Coaster Space Probe I. I was hoping to make it a 29mm bird, but they were out of the appropriate centering rings. I'll probably just make my own, even though I have quite a few 24mm rings in stock. Also picked up a new tube for the Centuri Akela and a Semroc XK-23. The skies over B6-4 Field will never be the same.

Here is my last order:

1 KA-11 Ruskie Model Rocket Kit

1 KA-12 Saki Model Rocket Kit -

1 KA-14 Snake Jumper Model Rocket Kit

1 KLV-16 SLS Javelin Model Rocket Kit

1 KM-2 Mercury Capsule

1 KV-29 Hydra VII Model Rocket Kit

1 KV-37 Shrike Model Rocket Kit

I bought the Shrike because I had one as a kid, and now I want to build it "right."

The Mercury Capsule, so I can make some retro models.

The rest are all Semroc originals, and I want to have something to remember the company by. I'm going to build them "catalog perfect," and fly 'em with pride.

My last orders, as this "last ordering" process started in January for me, were a wide assortment of parts to keep me building for a while. I liked Carl's laser cut fin sets, and got a pile of those. Tubes-o-plenty, centering rings, etc. I can build a lot of Centuri and Estes oldies plus competition birds for a while.

Not so many kits, but the first three are going to be difficult to clone in the future. I looked at the MX-774 kit at NARAM, and was amazed at the HUGE nose cone in this kit.
Aero-dart
Hustler
Orion
MX-774

I wanted to get a Hydra VII kit, but they were already out. Is it too soon to start posting plans of Semroc kits?

I'd have bought more, but we have a tuition payment coming up, a new furnace, and new wood floor in the basement. I also still have a Satellite Killer and Red Eye, WAC Corporal, Aerobee 300, Baby Orion, Bandit, Goliath, Hydra One, Hydra VII, Little Joe II, Thunder Strike, and Vector V in various stages of build, so I should be good for a while. (Not to mention the Centuri SST Shuttle and bunches of low numbered kits from the early days when I thought I might be a collector. Turns out I'm a builder. )

I stocked up on Hawks and Spacemen

I never got around to buying the Saturn 1b so most likely I will have to pay big bucks for one

Did anyone order an Orion (not the baby) and get a Centurion instead? If so, PM me.

I had tried to limit my hobby expenses recently, but took advantage of the Estes sales. Took advantage of the Fry's blow-out of Estes PSII. Now we are losing SEMROC. I did place an order for a couple of nose cones and for three additional kits that I already have (teach me to muck up the paint pattern on a Bandit...). Have to wait a while to pick up some laser cut fin patterns - Carl's work made it too frink'n easy to clone old kits - and help them reduce their inventory of pieces parts.

My wife Cindy was diagnosed with MS last summer. She started a new job this past Monday as a speech pathologist for a therapy ranch for kids. She has a sign hanging by her bedside:
"Sometimes good things fall apart so that better things can fall together".

Let us all hope that better things fall in place for our friends at SEMROC.

Chas

The last Semroc Saturn 1B went for over $127.00 on greed-bay.

I have 3 of them. One built, One NIB, and original #014 NIB.
#014 will most likely never be opened nor sold unless I get an absolutely ignorant $$ offer for it.

My last order was strictly parts, mostly a bunch of ST-10 sized parts. It was tempting to get a whole bunch of stuff I *might* use in the future, but ended up just targeting a couple clones that would be very difficult without semroc parts.

Well, I just put in one more order.

I'd forgotten that I wanted to make an upscale Centaur, powered by Estes 29mm BP motors.

I was hoping to order parts for three, but stock is getting tight. I was only able to order one cone and one balsa reducer.

As it was, Semroc was fresh out of ST-175 tubes. If I can't find any, I'll have to use the just-slightly-larger Aerotech tube.
