Fresh from foamy's kitchen...
A trio of Semrocs...
The Astro-1 and Snipe Hunter were my first two kits as a kid. I had painted the Astro-1 purple and the Snipe Hunter copper and black as that was what paint I had on hand from building a couple of model cars. I wanted to incorporate my original build colors on these two repro's. I must have laid the paint on the 'Snipe a bit heavy as the body tube decal was about a sixteenth of an inch shy of meeting. Fortunately, I had (I don't remember why) ordered a set of 'Snipe decals earlier in the year and I used a slice of it to fill in the gap. The Aerobee-Hi is (like the other two) a nice kit, but I had a problem with the black fin's decal. I wonder why they just didn't use white lettering without the black overprint.

I like your use of alternative paint schemes. Great scheme on the Astro-1.

Yes, very nice work! I like the gradient scheme on the Astro-1. Is that the tail cone for a Quest Stiker AGM the Snipe Hunter is resting on?

Your Astro 1 paint is great!

I think Semroc makes their decals on a laser printer. You can't print white so everything else (but the letters and numbering) is printed black on white decal paper.

I really like the paint scheme on the Astro 1. Was that airbrushed or rattle-canned?

Thanks fellas.

That's the transition for a Quest Terrior-Orion. I've assembled the main tube and motor mount and that mount is not centered or straight. I think I may have to order a new tube and mount from Semroc. The kit has some nice parts (that transition) and some lousy parts. It's my first Quest kit and Semroc's quality has spoiled me. I'll give them another try sometime down the road. Quote:
That job was airbrushed. It would have taken more patience and skill than I possess to rattle can it. Though, it's a bit touchy masking where the fades are and I ended up doing some dry-brush touch-ups. Thanks for that bit of information, Chris.

One big and one small. Love the little Micron with it's old school checker pattern and hand drawn logo.
The BD is not as nice as I would have liked. I messed up on my measurements evidently. Three points that are right on and one that got a bit tall. What a pain in the butt the BD was. No clear coat on either as of yet.
