Hot Dogs
I'm going to give equal billing to hot dogs! Love 'em or hate 'em--they DO exist.
Here's my personal favorites: THE CHICAGO STYLE: A steamed natural casing Daisy brand (made in Chicago) jumbo frank on a poppy seeded steamed bun, onions, tomato slices, blue relish, cucumber slices, yellow mustard, sport peppers and celery salt. (It's difficult to eat two of them--but not impossible.) THE JEFF STYLE (that I make only at home behind closed doors): A steamed Koegel's (shlepped back from MI) jumbo frank on a steamed poppy seed bun, chopped onions, ketchup. (Two of them--always.)

Wienerschnitzel.
3...two chilidogs and a krautdog. You have to eat one chili then the kraut and finally the other chili. If you get fries, they are to just sop up the leftover chili.... Great, now I'm hungray.

Only one name in Milwaukee for dogs, Martino's. They made a two foot long Chicago dog for their featured dish at Summerfest this year, it was a thing of beauty.

No custom dogs around here that I'm aware of (and I would be if there were). So I start with two Nathan's. Spit 'em down the middle, score the round side and fry them flat, turning once. Top split buns toasted in the broiler.
One with diced onion and Mister Mustard, the other with pickle relish and yellow mustard. Sometimes cheese. Sometimes kraut. A hot dog is one of the most customizable treats out there. Tried a chili dog the other day. Not bad, but I'd prefer my own chili. Up in New England, I had some of their purple dogs. Strange looking, but not bad. I can't even watch a little league game without getting a 'dog and a Coke. Kind 'a makes the game complete. What is "blue relish?" First I've heard of it.

"Blue Relish" seems to exist in Chicago only. There's a couple of different brands and it can be gotten at grocery stores also in the Chicago area. It's sweet pickle relish that's blue instead of green. It looks like it would taste like windshield washer fluid, but fortunately it does not.
....and who said that blue food doesn't exist?

A FLINT-style Koegel brand coney dog.
Those that have had them NEVER go back to chili dogs.

I'm sure I'll get booed off the thread, but give me a footlong dog from A&W any day, especially in summer. I guess they just have a nostalgia effect on me from my youth 50 years ago...

I'm reminded, there was this hot dog chain in St Louis - Woofies - I haven't had one of theirs in many years. Here's their Big Herm: We have lots of Sonics in the DFW Metrolplex. They've added several dogs recently, diversifying their menu quite a bit from the basic chili dogs they're known for. I've been known to eat there on occasion Doug .

That Big Herm just looks like a standard "Chicago Dog" fom Sonic or anywhere else.
Yes, the A&W footlong will get boos. They are LOUSY even WITH chili and cheese.
