I didn’t order anything from Belleville, just intrigued about their low pricing on Q-Jets. My Saturns were ordered from AC Supply, and I’ve ordered from them before, so I’m not too worried — yet! What really has me worried is getting my Estes 1/100 Saturn V done before July!

Over 100 posts for a plastic rocket. That's amazing considering all the bashing that's been done in the past about heavy plastic rockets.
On a similar note, the 3D printed parts are becoming fashionable after years of complaints of heavy plastic parts. Times have changed.

It is the Saturn V and it is the 50th year and it even looks good setting around between flights and it has a lot of 18mm options to boot
I’m sure all of this helps us forget that it’s almost all plastic. We also have a good backup if we don’t get our 1/100 Saturn V’s built in time We might get a bad reminder after a few flights when that thin rubber band shock cord breaks. I’m going to make sure that my cord lays flat on the body tube, on attachment side and not cross over the motor so it doesn’t take a direct hit from those injection gases. I guess if all else fails we still have the poster Lol |

I can say that the 2160 Saturn V is far and away the nicest RTF I’ve ever seen, now that I have two in hand. The one I opened is on display on its F-1 nozzles/display base now. Plastic does have its place.
As for 3D printed stuff....it still can be really heavy, but I’m seeing (both here and working with some TARC teams) 3D printed parts which aren’t crazy heavy and which take advantage of this new way of designing/making parts. I’m sure they will keep on getting better and make more sense as flight hardware as time goes on.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking the plastic renaissance, just reminding us of all the noise thrown out against it in the past. Plastic parts have their place for me too. I've ordered enough specialty tubes for a couple of Boyce block II Saturns. Hopefully the parts will be thin and light, or will be made in such a way that I can remove enough material to make them good fliers.

No, no, no, my OCD would never allow that. Better to just do it right and fly the commemorative flight in August ... Great news, I finally got a tracking update. My 1/200s are due to arrive Monday!

Just received mine. I have to say, they’re not bad. I never realized how badly yellowed my Cox Saturns have become. Might have to set them out in the sun.

Belleville does have the best price, if you order multiple 25x bulk packs. Even with the high shipping, the cost is substantially less than anywhere else. Shipping is $31.99 from $100..$199, so 3 C12 bulk packs (75 motors) comes out to $2.46/motor (Direct from Quest this same order would be $3.53/motor). Don't be in a hurry, though, my order took nearly 4 weeks. Those should last me a while. For one or two 12-packs, Sirius Rocketry has the best price including shipping, but they're currently sold out of C12 bulk packs.
