Chris (hcmbanjo) had that happen. Someone mailed one of his eBay rocket purchases in an envelope! It actually survived well enough for him to be more amused than upset. -- Roger |

It's happened to me too. A vintage Estes Ranger kit (the one with the Exocet NC) in a manila envelope. Flattened into oblivion.
IIRC I paid about ten bucks shipping for this mess. The seller was apparently gouging on shipping by shipping first class. The exact same thing happened with a vintage Estes Dragonfly B/G from a different seller. The BNC-5 was flattened so terribly it looked like a communion wafer. The honest sellers (like myself--and others like myself [we know who we are]) endure--the lame ones come and go.

It amazed me when people complain about shipping costs on Ebay. I build in a $5.00 handling charge on built models so I can ship Priority Mail regardless of the customer selecting Parcel. I want the tracking number and they should be happy with the speed. The longer in the system the more chances to eat one.
