TLP PERSHING Started
I've started a build of
The Launch Pad PERSHING on my build blog at: www.modelrocketbuilding.blogspot.com This will be a fun one! It's been on my list for a few years.

It's been on mine as well, but I'll wait to see how well it goes for you before making my decision on it.

I'll also be watching this one. I built a TLP Nike Ajax years ago and I thought the kit lacked quality. Or perhaps my expectations were too high.

The TLP Pershing kit, like most of their kits, is a genuine TURD.
WAY too many hard-to-form and easily damaged paper transitions. Best thing to do with this kit (short of throwin' it in the garbage) is to replace all of the parts forward of the main body tube with a Roachwerks (Gordon) custom cone.

Then by all means, don't stop by or follow the build! I don't want to stress you out. It was actually pretty smart the way the shrouds are assembled. The interior support is well engineered. Lots of seams to fill, but do-able.

I agree that they are do-able; I just prefer the easier and stronger way.

My kit is not handy at the moment, but I could have sworn that was a BT-100 instead of BT-101, so it is not quite as big as the Estes Maxi-Pershing.
I have been intending to stage mine. Intuition says the upper stage can be done without needing flip-out fins. The whole stack may need more help. I will need to throw some OpenRocket at it to see. Bill
