Default New Hobby Lobby

New store opened yesterday along my daily commute. The model rocket area has shrunk quite a bit compared to what it was a few years ago.

This is it. See attached.

Dang! That?s quite pitiful. I wish the Rocket Eating Trees I?ve had to deal with were THAT small.

Other stores are in the process of clearancing all the stock that's not what you see in that photo. I've picked up more than my fair share of $4.49 Baby Berthas, $4.99 Crossfire ISXs, $7.99 Hi-Flier XLs, and miscellaneous motors.

Their selection now is a BAD JOKE compared to what it used to be.
I remember the past when they carried the entire Quest line and Aerotech engines also.
Now it's just a smattering of basics.

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC !

I picked up a $5 Baby Bertha and $4.49 packs of C6-0 motors at another Hobby Lobby. Passed on all the other clearance stuff.

The brand new store has the range of Estes products that is what it is now. Reminds me of the Incredible Shrinking Displays at Walmart, Target, Michaels, etc.

Too many old farts buying stuff online. Maybe if we did more mentoring we can save the Estes display at Hobby Lobby.

When I found a local Hobby Lobby, 12 years ago, the rocket section took up half an entire isle.

To date, all I've found on clearance at any of my local HL stores has been a launch rod. No thanks. Got a few.

That's the sort of junk I leave behind. No one gets the good stuff after I sweep through your store.
Maybe some kid will never become an astronaut because some old guy bought the last Hi-Flyer at Hobby Lobby. Muaa-ha-ha-haaa!

Its not just the model rockets, but pretty much all model kits are being reduced. Train stuff looks to be reduced too. Gundam kits seem to be the only thing either staying the same or increasing. Supplies have diminished too. For example, can't get 30 minute epoxy anymore, so now I have to order it online.

The other thing I noticed is that there are more 'toys' being put up for sale. Hot wheels and other die cast cars and trucks.
