Man, I just love rescue rocket posts! To me, it just makes a lot of sense to buy original vintage Estes and Centuri classics for cheap and then put them into flying condition. Sometimes a bit more of a challenge, but worth the effort to see a rocket fly that otherwise would have remained in a dust bin, eventually to be thrown in the garbage by someone who had no interest.

I've just recently completed an Estes Nike Ajax restoration. Upgraded the power to 'D'.

Mark B,
The Sandhawk came out great!
I've only done a few rebuilds. I could have built a new model from scratch
by the time I cleaned up the original builders work!

I do enjoy taking a model destined for a trash heap somewhere and giving it new life. Especially the really old ones. Some just aren't worth it, but in my experience, one can restore just about any of these, depending on dedication and skill and sheer desire.

Yeah, Allen, that's the reason I do it too. hcmbanjo's comments above are true, but it's still nice to give an old rocket a second chance at life.

Thanks! I'll do my best, but she's gonna leave the pad in a hurry!
