Default Centuri Enerjet Athena Clone

Here's my latest build - a Centuri Enerjet Athena clone. Tubes by Semroc (back in the McLawhorn days), nose cones & transitions from Sirius Rocketry (part of his Moldin' Oldies line), and decals by Excelsior (Gordy). Wraps came from a forum member here, and the 29mm retainer from Aeropack.

I've always loved the lines of this bird, and gave up any hope of ever obtaining an original (just too dang many $$$) - but I think this is a testament to the fact that you can build something even as complex as this using materials from our current crop of outstanding suppliers, and have it come out looking like it came direct from Arizona in the 70's.

Hope you like it!

That looks gorgeous.

Fox head is begging to become the nose cone of a novelty rocket.

He'd make a fun OddRoc nose cone, that's for sure!

My better half picked him up from some lawn & garden place, and he's become my shop mascot. I'm thinking I'll get him an NAR jacket and a couple MicroMaxx's so he'll have his own fleet.

Nice. I wish I'd have gone with 29mm on mine, but all I had handy at the time was 24mm. I should have waited.

Looks like my original, in a box, with all parts attached to a chip sheet by elastic loops, and the rocket destroyed by an AeroTech F10 prototype probably about 1980. Enerjet had poly bagged Athena's and all other kits as part of their two year long blow-off sale. Imagine buying a bunch of those and hermetically sealing them till today. You could buy a house in Malibu for that!

Nice looking clone Dean. Will we see it at a WOOSH launch this summer?

I have probably the rarest Athena of all...the ONE and only Semroc prototype Athena clone.
Carl sent it to me gratis for helping point out some design changes for correctness when he was developing this SLS Clone kit that never made production. He was not able to work out producing/sourcing the tube wraps to his liking, hence it never entered production.
No it most likely will never be built nor sold.
It is worth far more to me than an original boxed Enerjet Athena as it is the only one that exists and most likely always will be the only one.
