Default Interceptor fin guide

I'm looking for a scan or drawing of the K50 fin marking guide. A search of YORF didn't turn up anything, and I didn't see a template on JimZ either. Thanks!

Sure there is. It's in the PDF file.

I've used it to make a standard size, two smaller sizes and a BT-80 sized monster.

I have a lot of the patterns already scaled.

Gordon, I think you're talking about the fin patterns and he's talking about the fin position guide to mark the body tube? Anyway, here's a couple of files I found somewhere on the Internet that may be helpful.

Just where did you find that fin alignment guide?

I have a redrawn marking template for this kit if you are interested. I drew it in Illustrator and the angles are all symetrical and should be a little better than the Estes one. Let me know if you would be interested in this template.

We think alike, Sandman. I turned a practice cone for the Interceptor out of some scrap pine the other day. I'll do one out of balsa soon.

Can I take you up on the Illustrator files for K-50, Kurt? I'm having a devil of a time in my redraw.

Bob,

Here is the marking guide. To explain about this guide though, it is an evenly spaced recreation of what I thought the original Estes one should be. It looked pretty good on my clone.

If you want or need the decal files, I think those are on Scott's site or I will send them to you too. Let me know.

Kurt

FWIW, here is a (relatively poor) picture of my recent Interceptor clone next to its 30+ year-old brother.

Nice pic Kurt. I hope to have a 'matching' set soon. Do you still fly them both?
