Default Ares Build - Preview

Here's a quick preview of my next build article. There are two models covered in the article - I'll let you guess what the other one is... And yes, these are flying model rockets.

Coming in the May/June issue of LAUNCH Magazine...

Looks like a set up for Space Systems......

Great looking project. I'm looking forward to the read.

I don't see how you have time to build quality models so fast.

Mario, that looks great!

What scale is it?

I worked up some drawings for a BT-101 version.

Is the other one on the launch tower in the pisture? I can only hope.

It's approximately 1/70th scale and stands about 61 inches tall. I see that you settled on the plans with the larger diameter for the upper stage. It's hard to scale a moving target...

I'm not sure I'm following the question but the other rocket has been photographed with the tower.

You have that right.

One theory is that the upper section may vary in size depending on the payload.

Geese! that monster will be larger than the Saturn V!

I have been "secretly" working on changes to the Ares 1 capsule/CEV, wait until you see that!

Default Say Mario...

Is the other rocket the Saturn V I see peaking in from the side of that pix? Is that bird also 1/70th to go with your Saturn 1B?
