Thumbs up Taking a break...

Hey, "all y'all,"

I will be on temporary hiatus (read "lurking status") for about the next month. I'm trying to compose a fight song (which I've *never* done before) for the new high school which will open in the fall, and I'm doing it from the ground up. It's a *lot* more complicated than writing a relatively simple pop/rock/country song.

The deadline is April 17th, so if you don't hear from me, everything's okay. In the meantime, "Go Riverhawks!" (I know there's no such thing, but how do you know exactly what color dinosaurs were, either? --I have no answer for that, either. )

My latest motto: "More questions than answers."

Cheers,

Ah, the Riverhawks....

with a fighting spirit that never balks (now there's a word you don't often see in fight songs )...

whose opponents all vanish like (not so) Great Auks....

whose defensive coverage lacks no caulks....

who announce their victories with thunderous squawks...

Fight fiercely Riverhawks!

I managed to get the chorus melody notated last Saturday, and I just finished up with hammer, chisel, and rocks after doing the same with the verse.

Saturday I find out which chords go with this melody. (I have this friend, see, and... )

Cheers,

Cheers,

A banjo worked surprisingly well in the title song...

Banjos ????
Oh pleez....
C'mon now....
Banjos do not go well in ANY kind of music that is even remotely tolerable by my ears.
Mite as well throw in an accordion and a squeez-boxx to have a TOTALLY TOXIC to the ears experience.

Riverhawks huh ? Are they in any way affiliated with the Minnesota State Screaming Eagles ??

Jay,

At least you are not tasked with writing a theme song for the NCSA Fighting Pickles...

...or the RISD Nads. (Cheerleader: "Let's go ----!!")

Be thankful. Be very thankful.
