The engines are looking very neat, solid nozzles and smooth casings. Different to most BP engines, there is lot of space in the casings left: Almost 3 cm in the case of C6-5 or 3!

Some impressions are attached.

Thank you for the information and pictures, Oliver. Please keep us informed as new engines are released. We'd also like to hear back from you on the performance of these engines after you've had a chance to fly them.

Scott, sure I will! The C6-types are available immediatly while the rest (A-D) is in production and announced for the end of this month. The 24 and 29 mm engines do not have CE mark now so they may not be available until 2014 (or even later).

They all came in packages of 6 for a price of 10,90 Euros. Thats really cheap, however, there are no electrical igniters included, just safety fuses.

One collegue just posted a first field report to our German Modellraketen Forum. According to him, the performance is even better than Estes (composite rather than BP, less weight), fewer smoke trail and clean ejection charge.

So all in all, it sounds fantastic!

Leo sure does like them. I wonder if we will ever get to fly them here in the US. So far, they're still vapor-ware. Now that AT and Quest are joined at the hip, will we see these engines? Cheap in Germany, expensive here. Look what AT did to the prices of some engines they now produce for Estes. Didn't it nearly triple just for the E composites?

At least Robert Klima planned to export them to the US via Quest. Maybe the merger will change this, maybe not. Pricing will be higher than in Europe just by the fact electrical igniters must be added. But I guess they are not going to top Estes prices?

Sell them without ignitors... with a list of "recommended ignitors" (run some tests with typical commercially available ignitors). If a Quest Q2G2 or Estes standard ignitor will light them, that'd be terrific!

AFAIK, there's nothing wrong with selling them just with the wick... that can easily be ignited by a standard Estes ignitor or Q2G2... or heck buy a roll of Nichrome wire and go back to making simple coil ignitors to light the wick...

Later! OL JR

Suggestion seconded! They could even sell the motors with (separate packs of) Quest Q2G2 ignitors, which come in packs of six like the Klima motors. Also:

Indeed...they could even call 'em "Super Sure-Shot" or "Sure-Shot III" ignitors (Centuri's re-labeled Estes Solar Ignitors having been called "Sure-Shot II" ignitors).

Klima news has been little if any for awhile now here on YORF.

Here's a link to a brief report about Klima at the 2015 Nuremberg Toy Show:

Thank you! I see that Klima is also offering kits, a launch pad, and a launch controller of their own design (one could almost hold up a bank with that launch controller--"No, it's *not* set on "stun!"). :-) Maybe we'll see reviews of them soon... (Leo?).

Most of the stuff is still under construction. But the pad and the launch controller is almost in final stage. So I guess we´ll see them available in summer this year. For both, the quality is even better than the Quest stuff, and the price is less.

Thanks for the information, Oliver.

Now, if we could only get the Klima motors available for sale here in America.
