Default Estes Monarch Build

My next build is another new kit from Estes. This is a quality kit and should be a fun build.

I really like the looks of the Monarch so I'll be watching this thread.

Press on, scigs.

Do you think the fact it is not a one piece tube has to do with packaging alone? I am not too sure why it is two piece, but then again I am not too sure about anything.

Can't wait to see the build scigs, I am sure it will be another beauty.

The Monarch reminds me of a scaled down Quest Big Betty.

My Monarch is ready for primer. I used balsa filler to fell the Bt. Joint and after some sanding the seam in gone, still wished Estes used a single Bt. The balsa parts are filled with 4 coats of Aerogloss balsa sealer and the fillets are Elmers white glue, all the construction is Elmers White glue.

Is the total BT length more than 18"? If it is, that may be why two BT sections were used. I don't think I've ever seen a single BT longer than 18" except on a very few scale kits.

Wasn't there another Estes (Centuri?) bird called the Monarch? I woulda sworn an earlier incarnation of the current Guardian was called Monarch, but danged if I can back that up with JimZ, YORP or ninfinger proof
