It would certainly be easier to use a piece of 5" tubing if I had some lying around (I don't), but I think the thicker look is better, and fabricating the curved balsa pieces is really fun and satisfying. And I needed to get some more use out of the 4" PVC couplers that I used for previous bending tasks.  |
