Use an internal core of BT-50 and a paper transition (think Sat1B LEM shroud) with plenty of centering rings. The BT-60 and the paper shroud then just become the outer "skin".
Also, look at the design from a smaller perspective. It's just a Gyroc with bumps and an upper vertical spine. As long as the proportions are kept similar to the Gyroc, the model should fly reasonably well. Watch the CG and CP margin (use the BT-60 as a reference diameter), and add ballast if needed.
