Default GT-400 *scale* B/G

Hello All,

I just came across an unusual modern glide target, the Meggitt Defense Systems GT-400, that is towed behind (and then released from) jet aircraft such as Learjets. It would make a unique (yet simple and easy-to-build) *scale* boost-glider, and several links to scale data on it are included below. A GT-400 flying model could be configured as a parasite boost-glider, being hung on the side of a long, narrow rocket. But because the GT-400 is long and narrow, a narrow streamer-recovered “belly-mounted parallel booster” (which could be the same length as the GT-400 model, or slightly longer, if the booster’s nose cone was ballasted—plus, it might not need its own fins if it was longer than the GT-400 model) could be used instead. Also:

This booster could be painted a low-contrast color so that it wouldn’t be very visible on the launch pad and during ascent (until the booster’s streamer deployed at ejection/glider separation). The GT-400 model’s bright orange/red color would grab viewers’ attention on the launcher and in flight. If the GT-400 model was made of BT-20 or BT-50 tubing, the booster could be made of BT-5 tubing, for a 13 mm motor powered GT-400 scale model. Here are the GT-400 links:
