That sounds like a good solution. I have a couple of 900mm Maker Beams including one I fairly crudely drilled out the end of and epoxied in a bit of Estes starter set launch rod in so I can put it on a PortaPad or any other pad that can take a 1/8 inch rod by grasping the rod itself. I should try the micros again.

That Plastruct looks like a good idea, too.
