New Plan -- Tau Vega
This one is still in development, but I thought you might find it interesting. The engine cowlings are hollow, and made from folded-and-glued pieces of Carl's 0.025" thick pressed-paper material (half as thick as his rocket rack and centering ring material). I haven't got the weight figures just yet for these items; I'm allowing 3/4 oz for each, but I think it will be much less...
Uses Jay's "Tau Zero" nose cone, and more of those open-frame fins...
Length: 24.3"
Fin Span: 7.13"
Diameter: 1.04" (BC-860 max diameter)
Weight: 3 oz (incorrect value; needs actual weight of those cowlings corrected)
B6-4......219'......28 FPS
C6-5......632'......10 FPS
Using these weight values, the model requires a 48" launch rod, 3/16" diameter, to achieve flight velocity.
Enjoy!
