Dude these parts are like around $1 a piece, your time and the engines are the most expensive part of this hobby so you might as well do it right. :) |

The Dowel pops out when the ejection charge fires and the pieces float down. Thier not very environmentally friendly I guess, but they don't come down like lawn darts. ;) |

I made 3 of these Dowel Rockets using 1/2A's and launched them tonight, they flew great. :) |

I doubt the BATF is worried about a D sized flying foam box, but if they want to come over they can race on my Slot Car track. My boys will kick their butts. :D |

Thanks dwmzmm, pictures would be great. :) I think that a heavier rocket would benefit from a catapult more than a lighter one would. |

Very cool Zep thanks for the pics. 2 micro piezo gyro's and HS-55 servos would work great for rockets with a micro reciever and a LiPo battery pack. You could inginite the engine remotely from a PCM... |

Has anyone here ever used a Micro Gyro and Servos to stabilize their rocket? I have very lite weight micro servos and gyro's that might work to stabilize a touchy rocket and add very little weight. |

I am going to build it as lite as I can and use a BT-80 as the main tube and then see how many D's or E's it will need. |

Here are a few more pictures, :) I did a little work on it this morning before my boys woke up. It's 3.5 feet tall but I don't know what it weighs yet I have to get a scale. :confused: |

Thanks Gus, Sounds like there is no way this thing will get into the air at this size with the smaller motors I want to use. I'd like to keep it to a D or E size so I guess under 2' long and 11 oz's... |
