mid-80s find
As commonly happens to people our age I find myself cleaning out my Mother's house. So far, to my shock as I had totally forgotten about this stuff ( and some I don't remember ever having):
(In a small box containing other youthful things, all mid-eighties or earlier): Echo Astro Javelin Scout I I Streak w/ packaging Mosquito Yankee WAC Corporal what looks like a mini scratch build. 1 D12 0 Later: The package containing the other two D12 0s 86 Estes catalog Alpha book Fall, Winter 87 model rocket news packaging from Mercury Redstone (includes instructions, decals and one chute instructions for the Wasp Launch rod safety cap and key Revised Fifth Edition of Stine's Handbook of Model Rocketry I feel like i'm writing to Penthouse. "I never thought it would happen to me...." |
Nice find - are any in flyable condition still?
|
Cool, Time travel...some really nice things there. My second rocket was the Streak 1963, and it did "streak away"
|
At least Penthouse has pictures. :chuckle: ;)
|
+1 to what Bill just said.
The pictures 99% of the time are far better than any rockets too.... |

Not only are they flight worthy, but every one will be tasting some sky very soon.
This is nasty, miserable work. What a nice surprise to find this stuff. |
A small bright spot in a sad duty.
|
Very cool
That is a great find with all the dirty work:-)

Note my innovative storage technique: I put a little glue on the bottoms of the fins and stick them on the ceiling. They stay out of the way. Just don't use too much glue or they won't come off.
In an odd, out of the way drawer I found a lone 1/2 A6-2. I can't remember the date system, but it says "14 P 10". |
