More Rockets Star Speeder

It seems lately that i finish building a rocket....then it takes 3 weeks to paint. Well I finished More Rockets Star Speeder. Great kit with quality parts. Although when i first saw the decal i was disappointed, but was pleased with the outcome once applied to the rocket. If you put the decals over any color other than white, I suspect you will get a lot of bleed through :( . Plan on getting the rest of his clones. Painted with ructoleums 2X white and flat black. Here it is....Comments welcome....Good and bad. ;)

Thanks for looking

Thanks for looking

Well Brett, you've done a great job - the model looks great. Don't know if it was intended, but it sure bears a close resemblance to the Galactic Taxi, #1914.

Thanks for the nice comment john....I appreciate it. I looked up the Galactic Taxi and your right....There is some resemblence there, it's a cool looking rocket.

VERY nice... I've always liked the looks of the Star Speeder... Except for that one center belly fin... wonder if it'd fly stably without it??

Just might do a BT-80 upscale of it... :) OL JR :)

Awesome build clean and perfect. I have 2 of these kits, one sealed and the other open. The open kit is missing the tooth pick and the motor/body mount rings. What other Estes kit used these rings or where can I buy them? Also I have seen this type of craft stick before, but for the life of me unable to find them. Any help would be great, thanks. I will attatch the pictures.

Thanks for the great feedback guys. It's always nice to hear what others think. Hey Scigs, It looks like Semroc has the big toothpick but not the adaptor rings. Don't know of any other kit that uses the same rings. Hopefully someone will chime in and tell you for sure. Here is the link to the parts list.

My favorite rocket, never seen on with a black nose cone but it looks really cool that way. They fly great, and look terrific. I have the parts for an upscaled version, just haven't gotten to it yet.

scigs30 - I'm not sure if anyone offers the offset rings, sure would be great if they did.

I was able to cut them from Heavy fiber board when I built my clone. Wasn't dificult. If I remember correctly the Estes Nebulon Worrior (#1939) used the same offset rings. The More Rockets Speeder kit might make a good starting point for a kitbashed/clone of the worrior.

That's exactly what I did, wasn't a problem. I wish Estes would re-release the Speeder!
