Centuri Viking decal
Anyone have a scan of the Centuri Viking decal, the red one? I just finished a Viking that I found in my cabinet and can't bear to paint it yellow and use the stickers.

I have four left I printed a while back when my printer was working. http://www.sandmandecals.com/product.php?id_product=791 Bill, they are in the mail. |
Thanks, Gordon. Let me know what I owe you. I checked the site last night and it said there were none in stock.

I'm sorry about that, I have to adjust my inventory manually. I just missed it when I was going down my list. I now show 4 left, which is what I have. Catch me at the next NARAMS. |
OK, Ive got this kit. I did not know it was a Centuri Clone kit. My bad. But...
Wild Wallyum Will AKA Bill Eichelberger built this "Estes" kit without telling us and doing a build thread without telling us! Shame on you Bill! Not sharing on such a build. Gees, don't you want to share? Bill, I'm just raggin' on you in fun. Please don't take it personal, OK! |

Sorry, I was too worn out by the complicated build process. If anyone needs me I'll be having a Valium and a nap to recover. I think this kit was just available in the last few Centuri catalogs. It replaced the Vector V  and recycled everything but the transition, the lower body tube and the centering rings. So, we trade the Vector V for the Viking? Am I the only one who thinks that sounds like a lousy trade? Somewhere in the Old Rockets file section is a plan to turn the Viking back into a Vector V. That was how I built my first VV clone back in 2004. |

The Viking kit was originally the Boy Scout Akela-1 rocket. The Akela-1 was being produced at the same time as the Vector-V. However, technically it didn't become the Viking until it showed up in the catalog in 81, so in that regard, it replaced the VV. |

Good point. Forgot about the Akela. I can fly them side by side this summer. |

 They showed up TODAY! I think we know where Carl's express mailer went. I should have pics tomorrow. Thanks, Gordon. This rocket turned out too nice to have that hideous yellow paint job with the stickers. |
