Heh, no, I would not call Sobelman's a destination for margaritas either. For $1 they're not bad though. They just used to be better last summer. The best margaritas I ever had were the ones our chef's, Jose & Alfredo, made fresh for us when we were in Tulum. Just awesome. They use Kontroy vs Cointreau for making them down there. Mexican version of an orange liqueur which is a lot cheaper yet tastes just as good. I guess I'm not a fan of any Bloody pre-mix, other than a house mix a bar will make for themselves to make the process of drink making faster. |
Never heard of Kontroy...the Riu Palace Mayan Riviera used Cointreau.
A Don Julio Anejo/Cointreau/FRESH-squeezed Lime Juice Margarita is a wonderful thing. The only Bloody Mary bottled pre-mix I have had that I consider on-par with home-made mixtures is "Texas Red-Eye"; Very thick, lots of flavor, plenty of Worchestrshire and Celery Salt right in the mix. |
Another good burger was had by me tonight. Just sayin!
Perfectly cooked through, lightly seasoned, tasty meat. Oh, Yeah! |
