Estes: Astron Alpha IV
 

Now "GO!" for the next launch window:

This was released back on Estes' 40th Anniversary. I didn't like the way the 40th Anniversary decal showed up on the beauty shot so I added a close-up.

A pity Estes couldn't "decide" to do a golden one for their 50th. :(

I picked up a couple of these over the years. It's true that Estes should have AT LEAST done something like this as a 50th anniversary nod.

I have a customer request for this decal.

Does anybody have a scan??

I just sent a .jpg version of my attempt at scanning one I did before I built one a couple of years ago. That gold metallic really freaks out the "exposure" on my scanner setup.

I wouldn't mind cloning one of these to add to the Alpha fleet. Isn't there a current RTF kit that uses this same red "metallic"body tube?

Nothing in a BT-50 Alpha size.

The Code red is 1.35" O.D. and the Red Flare is 2.6".

So...no.

You may find paper or something similar to use as a wrap at a craft store.

Now all I need is a good scan of the decal.

How about the original decal instead of a scan? Or maybe the whole kit?

I'm expecting a scan tonight. The gold is kind of a PIA to scan.

Lets see what happens after I get the scan.
