System Emails
 

There had been a problem for many months with emails (notification of someone replying to a thread you posted in, notification of a waiting PM, etc) from YORF not going out to some members properly. I believe I found the problem and got it fixed yesterday. If you were experiencing this problem and are now getting email notifications as you should, please reply to this thread.

One other thing. I also found that some people weren't getting emails due to having an old email address on file that is no longer active. Please make sure the email address you're using in your account here is an active email address. If not, please change it. If you have problems changing it yourself (system says your "new" address is banned), contact me to get it changed.

Well, I got a thread update yesterday for the first time in I don't remember how long....so I think it's working.

I had changed my email address from the charter address that I had registered with the forum to an iCloud address that I use on my iPad when email notifications stopped about a month ago but notifications had stopped again.

I'll see if I get a notification reply on this thread or other threads that I have subscribed to and report back here it it's woring again.

You should be able to change it back to your Charter address now if you wanted, Steve. If you do that, post here again so we can test to make sure you get an email at that address.

Let me know if it comes through to your iCloud address, too.

Yes. Looks all good, at least for me now ....

Came through on iCloud first and then when I changed it to Charter it picked up the last notification at Charter.

Great! I wish I found the cause to the problem sooner.

Woot! I'm back. I've been banished in the ether for many months thanks to a new computer and a forgotten password. I'd requested a new password a couple of times months ago and never received a response. I just thought Scott had tired of my inane posts, but then I saw this thread and realized what was going on. The system is now fixed and I received a response to my most recent request immediately. Thanks, Scott, for working out the glitch. Ironically, I've been very busy building and flying of late, and while exiled I noticed several threads I want to respond to.

Is everyone still getting their emails from YORF such as when someone replies to a post you're participating in?

I am subscribed to this thread but did not get the email from YORF that you posted.

Thanks. That verifies what I thought. There's an issue with system emails again that I have to fix. It may be a day or two.

The last notification I received was back on April 16.

I've been getting e-mails for all the replies.

It appears the problem this time is just for me with my internal admin emails. I'm getting the emails from forum subscriptions, but not new user registration and contact us emails. My host is working on it now.

Checking to see if people are still getting their notification emails from the forum?

I get them sporatically. Verna says she has never gotten one, had no idea what I was talking about. Maybe it has something to do with when a person signed up???

As for emailing another member within the forum, both are working fine.

In your user options there is a box to check for email notifications. Maybe hers is unchecked.

They stopped. Have no idea why. :confused:

So, you did not receive an email just now saying I replied to this?

Thanks for the advice, I just checked and as it turns out things are set so that I should be getting the notices but it's not a problem if I don't. I check back when I can anyway. The other forums I'm on don't have that feature so I don't miss it.
