PDRocketry Gemini Titan - 3

3 Attachment(s)
My PDRocketry Gemini Titan - 3 model is just about finished and should get its first test flight next Sunday (February 18th) at JSC during the STARS Texas Winter Regionals...

The rocket looks great Dave :)

I spruced up the picture a bit to make the white paint on the model look white :)

Thanks, Leo. My wife just bought a digital camera, and I'm an admitted novice when it comes to figuring out how to work it and do the other things with it. Those pics in my first
post in this thread were test shots I did late last night after reading the camera's instructions. Plus, I gotta learn how to do the transferring pics/files (whatever they're called) from one place to forums like this. Still learning...

Outstanding job!

I've been thinking of buying one of the PDR Gemini Titan kits myself.

Is it difficult to finish the rocket? From the pics it looks like excellent painting skills and a ton of patience would be needed to get it to look almost as good as yours does.

Suh-weet, Dave. Good job. What's it use for fins?

Did you use chrome monotrim on it? It looks fantastic!

Thanks, guys. Yes, the PDRocketry GT-3 kit is a fairly difficult model to build; I would rate
the model a Skill Level 4 1/2 (on a scale of 1 - 5). I had a few issues to deal with during the
build, which will be described in my EMRR product review I'll do shortly after it's first flight
next Sunday. The silver is the trim monokote I ordered from BMS just for this build; I wasn't going to risk getting uneven finishes by trying to spray paint silver paint. I also
ordered extra decals from Tango Papa Decals (mainly for the Gemini capsule decals, as
the PDRocketry kit didn't come with any).

And, you mean you couldn't see the clear plastic fins?! :p Just kidding! I do have clear
plastic tubing that fits over the BT-70 main bodytube perfectly; and there's four swept
back clear fins firmly attached to the clear plastic tubing. I used Ambroid Pro-Weld for
the work here and the product was like magic. From the distance, it would be hard to
notice the clear fin can when this baby is launched.

Again, thanks for the kind words. I can't wait to get this model in the air next weekend!

Did some more playing around with our digital camera and decided to add a few pics of the

Sorry for the last two pics; looks like I had the setting for "closeup" instead of autofocus and
the result is what you see  Anyhow, from the distance the clear plastic fins will be
difficult to see (and in flight, as I'm sure!).

I should look forward to reading the review on EMRR.

Give us a note when it has been posted :)
