Apollo 11 Moon Landing on 45 RPM.

Apollo 11 Moon Landing on 45 RPM.

I found 10 of these today at a flea market. It is narrated by Hugh Downs. I didn't have my camera to take a pic and I did not buy them. If you want one, PM me and I'll get one for you.

Also, I found a G.I. Joe doll of Apollo 13 Astronaut. I don't remember that doll.

How much was the GI-Joe?? Which Apollo 13 astronaut was it??

It's probably the Apollo 13 crew member that never launched, Ken Mattingly.
Hyuk, yuk, yuk, yuk !
Does that G.I.Joe come with a Kung-FUBAR grip ?

Mattingly flew on the shuttle a few times. Just missed his Apollo ticket.

Umm...back up just a bit in the space history timeline and one will find that Mattingly DID find his Apollo ticket as CMP on Apollo 16 in April, 1972 along with John Young, Commander, and Charlie Duke, LMP. ;)

As you noted, he also went on to fly the shuttle, one of just a couple of former Apollo mission guys to stay with the program long enough to get a shuttle ride. Matter of fact, his 'boss' from Apollo 16, John Young was one of the other Apollo guys (and only moonwalker) to fly shuttle.

Vance Brand from Apollo-Soyuz also flew on the shuttle, as did (seems like) a couple of the the Skylab guys.

Paul Weitz from SL-2 went on to command STS-6; Owen Garriott from SL-3 served on STS-9 as a Mission Specialist (operated the first "Ham Radio Station" from orbit!); and Jack Lousma, also from SL-3, commanded STS-3 (and "popped a wheelie" with Columbia on landing...nose wheel came down, then back up, then back down again :) ).
