MPC Lunar Patrol Finally Finished
2 Attachment(s)
After a year and a half of knocking around with this bird, I finally managed to finish it today. 'Twas one of those scratch-builds fraught with a plethora of problems requiring re-work and retro-fits, but still turned out OK.
The whole grisly process is documented throughout my blog (linked below). Anyway, I'm anxious for the open burn ban in Colorado to be lifted (probably sometime this fall), so I can get this thing in the air. It will probably have to take a B4-2 for its maiden launch. I would rather start it out on an A motor, but no one makes a low average thrust/short delay A motor any more. Really miss those A3-2 motors of yore. |
That looks really amazing!
Something to shoot for when I build mine. |
Great build. I have been keeping up on your Blog.
Good blog. Enjoy a lot. |
Very nice!

Looks great!
For what it's worth, the Estes A8-3 has an average delay of 2.25 seconds and it doesn't really kick off the pad that hard. . |
Bring it to NARAM!

Really, a stunning looking rocket. Wonderful workmanship! You really should launch on original MPC engines............

Thanks, All,
I will be at NARAM Saturday for the NAR Re-union, but unfortunately, I can't be there during the flying days because of a weird work schedule. |
All times are GMT -5. The time now is 07:11 AM. |
