NASCAR has become such a JOKE
 

NASCAR 'racing' has evolved steadily into a cookie-cutter equalization JOKE ever since adaptation of so called "restrictor plate" racing after Bill Elliott set the still-standing qualification record at Daytona back in 1986 of over 210mph.
This forced equalization of cars creates 20 car wrecks instead of 2-3 car wrecks due to lack of separation.
It is at the point of being unwatchable.
The racing would be far better if rules similar to Formula 1 would be adapted.
Items that MUST be adapted:
ELIMINATE ANY/ALL rules that force equalization of vehicles and any forced safety devices since 1986.
Elimination of any pit speed limits.
Implement a hole-shot racing start out of the pits like Formula 1.
Unlimited number of pit crew members just like F1.
NEVER any forced pit stops.
NEVER close pit road.
Unlimited number of tire changes.
Allow ONLY USA-headquartered brands.
Eliminate full-course yellow flags like Formula 1, short of that, yellow flagged laps don't count toward the total distance.
Vehicles must have factory driveline configuration; i.e. no FWD bodies on a RWD chassis.
All engines must be naturally aspirated, and a factory-style short block design. After that, ANY cylinder head and induction design allowed.
Bodies must conform to FACTORY profile with any TEAM-desired wings/spoilers allowed to be added.
Make it a no-nonsense run-whatcha-brung series that ENCOURAGES innovation, not one that stymies it.
If ya can't afford to compete, get the H out !
If ya can't take the heat (danger) get the H out of the kitchen.

Or, you could just watch Formula 1............

No, I want NASCAR back to the brawlin' free-for-all days of the late 60's and early 70's where there were a TON less rules and the superspeedways were ruled/dominated by BIG-BLOCK horsepower.
Teams could innovate. Races were exciting, not mostly resembling a locomotive with a bunch of trailers.
I'd love to see the performance of a high compression 502 CID Chevy big-block fitted with 4-valve hemi heads in a NASCAR Camaro.

The attempted "equalization" of teams has gone so far as to force teams to all use the same "spec" air impact gun for changing tires. Ridiculous and MORONIC.

I would rather see TESLA fielding teams than TRASHota. Oh what a feeling to PEUKE !!

There used to be two races. One with and one without restrictor plates. Some of the better drivers ended up going to restrictor plate races because they got tired of winning on just speed. Like they say; "It's not how fast do you want to go, how fast can you afford to go?"

Well, one thing for sure that it cannot be called stock car racing for a long time.

The only thing even close to "stock" in NASCAR is the RWD V8 platform of the Camaro. The Taurus and Camry are not even close to their "stock" configuration. They should have to run a rinky-dink V6 and FWD. They would win NOTHING.

People still watch NASCAR?? WHO KNEW??
