I will be listing rocket kits and accessories from the extensive collection of Bruce Markielewski, former president of Denver Colorado’s Rocket Club; CRASH. NAR 482 who passed away Sept 2005. He was an award winning rocketeer and his passion for the sport lives on through the clubs activities.

We will have a large volume of kits and rocket accessories up for auction during the next several weeks. Many are one of a kind so it may be your only opportunity for a chance to win some interesting items. Not all items will be posted at once as this is a fairly large undertaking so, keep checking if you are interested in something.

Good luck, and all of us at CRASH thank you for your support.

You'll have trouble listing the motors on Ebay, so might want to consider auctioning them off on this site. The auctions feature here doesn't get much traffic, but if you cross post in here you'll draw some interest.

I'm looking forward to making a bid on the Cuda's and Mars Snoopers...

The motors will be the last to go. Mostly because of having to set up the shipping. In any event, I will post when an auction running.

Thanks

Wow, that is quite a collection. Do multiple pictures of the same kit mean multiple examples of that kit will be available?

In any event some really interesting items there.

Looking forward to the availability of some of those harder to come by kits. Best of luck with your auction.

Bruce was a great guy as well as a competitor. I enjoyed flying with him (even though he kicked my butt) in competition. Almost had him in the F six-egg loft event we flew in Denver back in the 90s. He sure was inventive.......

Great to see what he had in his collection and I hope to score some of it at auction.

Just ship via Parcel Post.

I'll state it right now. Fred or anyone else that starts squawking about shipping motors in this thread will have their posts deleted.

I almost always order them online, its an hour to the nearest place that sells anything with model rockets (Hobby Lobby) and 100% of all my Aerotech motors and rockets have to be ordered online.

Lately, I've seen lots of motors for sale on ebay. From BP to aerotech, all have been put up for auctions or 'buy-it-nows.' They used to get pulled all the time. Not anymore! :)
In fact, I have lots of reloads I intend to put up for auction over there...when I can get to it.

Are the rocket kits you are listing on ebay meant to be "collectors items" or "to be built kits"? I don't "collect" rocket kits (I'm accumulating a build pile) but I also wouldn't want to pick up a rare kit and rip it open without really knowing it. Of course anything others would consider to be rare and valuable would likely exceed my spending limits anyways.

Just curious.

Thanks.

I think all kits are build kits so have at it. Unless you won the Estes Pro Series Patriot....:)

Yea... that kit went for $455.00.... I don't think so :)

Good luck with the auctions.

It's ONLY because my legs are still messed up and I can't leave the house.

Otherwise, I'd probably be working on machinery in India.

I got two kits from the auctions - one of which my wife will build and the other I'll be building with my oldest daughter. Both are 'collectors kits' but not ones that don't pop up regularly on ebay.

Speaking of opening an older kit, personally we never purchase a kit at any price that isn't going to be built at some point but I do have a suggestion for those who buy older kits and open them.

Several times before building an older kit we've sent parts to Moldin' Oldies (now done by Sirius) or decals to Tango Papa, so they could be cloned or reproduced. Do your fellow hobbyist a favor and please consider letting David at Sirius, or Tom at Tango Papa, use the parts and decals from the older kits to add to their inventory, so others can build clones too. The parts you send to Sirius to clone will be returned and most of the time you can just send Tom a scan of the decals.

Give it some thought before you build.

In my case, one was the original edition of Estes' Star Trek Enterprise, which I believe is material that is rather accessible already. (That's for my wife.) The other is the original MPC edition of the Flat Cat boost glider. My daughter had asked for one, and reviews indicated that the MPC edition was a bit better than the current version by Quest, so I thought I'd pick up this MPC version for her. I'll probably be scanning whatever decals, patterns and such are included in it. But otherwise I don't believe it has much that's unique, and they do appear rather regularly for sale.

But I do agree. Any legacy materials should be shared and duplicated/archived if possible. It's a vital resource in many hobbies I've been involved with.

I've picked up a couple Centuri kits from this series of auctions and I must say the kits have been in very good to excellent condition, well packaged for shipment which is VERY important for these kits (postal damage is a VERY strong pet peave of mine), and shipped in a very timely manner. Triple A Plus for this eBayer!

I hope the proceeds help the club....just sorry for the circumstances that brought this collection out for sale to begin with. I know it's been some number of years now since your friend's passing, but condolences I guess really are never 'too' late.

Since you will be moving. Who will continue the auction of these items? Sorry, a little self interest since I been waiting for you to post some of the items I was interested in.

Congrats on the new job.
