Brian,
I am thinking to myself, when was the last time I saywCustom rockets in a walk-in hobby shop ... I have to think 4-6 years ago. IIRC, there are based out of Lake Havisu Arizona? Are they still in business?

As of a month or so ago they were still in business. That was the last time I called them. They are no longer located in Lake Havisu, however. They are now located in Iowa.

Custom Rocket Company is still in business - http://www.customrocketcompany.com/
They offer mostly smaller size rockets than in the past but still good products.
Best regards,
Brian
And many of their products are in stock at my LHS.

Custom has very good stuff! I wish they still made the SERVAL kit.

Great kit. Flew mine on a really windy day with no weather cocking (but it had one heck of a side slip).
Plans are here.

Nose cone would be hard to come by but you can get a suitable replacement in balsa and add some nose weight.

My local hobby shop has always carried the full Custom line.
Never had much interest in it though and apparently most of the customers in my local shop are of the same opinion.
I think at LEAST half of the kits have been hanging from the same hooks for at least FIVE YEARS.
I wish somebody new would get into affordable single-use black-powder 18 and 24mm motor manufacturing; we have WAY more kits available than in the golden era, but far less available in motor choices.
Bring back the B14-x, B8-x, C5-x, a reliable E60-x and F100-x, B4-6 (which is the ONLY B4 engine that EVER should have existed as anything the B4-2 and B4-4 can do the B6-2 and B6-4 do BETTER), full B-size 13mm mini motors. All should be affordable with a street price of no more than $7 for a 3-pak ANY of the 18mm offerings and no more than $20/3pak for the equivalent of a 29mm 55-60 n-sec F80. Those would fill a real need and would sell like gangbusters. Sell them direct from the manufacturer like the Semroc business model to avoid adding any zero-value middleman cost.

As Don pointed out the plans are online and the body tube/tube fins are indentical (or within .0XX inches) to an Estes BT-50. Shouldn't be too hard to clone. I have an extra nose cone if your interested.
