Is this a "corrected" list, Scott? The "Screamin' Mimi" isn't listed here, although it was mentioned earlier, implying that it actually is still in production.

I'm told by my source that the Oracle and Screamin' Mimi are still available, for now. I'm also told that the Blurrzz Tuners are discontinued but the Dragsters are back in different colors.

Looking closer, the actual 2006 catalog does not have the Screamin' Mimi, so that is history as well.

What this means is anyone that has open kits of the above should scan the materials and send it to plans@oldrocketplans.com for inclusion at Ye Olde Rocket Plans. Craig McGraw had sent me plans for the Fat Boy, Star Dart and Screamin' Mimi last year so I can now put those online.

Are you sure the Star Dart will be discontinued? With it being a sister to the Sizzler, I would
have guessed Estes would continue to keep it in stock (I've purchased the Sizzler/Star Dart
combo packages at Wal-Mart several times, once the price was only $4.44!). Both models
are extremely high performace flyers on the C6-7's...

It's no longer on the dealer price list.

I like the Screamin' Mimi for parts. So when when it was mentioned that it's being discontinued, I picked up a couple to have around.

What I find odd is that all the Mimi's that I bought in the past had die cut fins but the two that I just picked up had laser cut fins. Why would they switch over to laser cut fins on a model that they are discontinuing??

You're presuming rational thought. Since when in the last 15 years have we seen rational decisions for any product coming out of the Great House of Penrose?

because the fins will be used on a future model.

All I know is it had a water-tight payload section in which "Space Monkeys," aka "Sea Monkeys," aka brine shrimp would be placed and flown.

It is still on some distributors' list as "Coming Soon." The only picture I saw, which may have been a place holder, was of a Nova Payloader.

Quite frankly, with Semroc, PDR, Thrustline, Squirrel Works, and FlisKits being in existence, I could care less what Estes releases or discontinues as far as kits.
Most Estes kits now are little more than toys that take the craftsmanship of a 4yr old to build correctly.
What I DO care about is the dwindling BP motor list from Estes....our BP selections keep getting smaller. The booster motors offered are pathetic....I'd rather have an A8-0, B6-0, or B14-0 than the C6-0. Bringing back the E15-0 would be good also.
Now if Carl at Semroc would just bring back his BP motor line or if Gary at Aerotech would start once again producing RMS18 B,C, and baby E loads, I could care less about Estes motors as well.
