Hello All,

In the seemingly never-ending quest to keep things from crowding me out of my small apartment, I've been thinning my collections of space memorabilia and rocketry items. Described below is a unique piece of Apollo 8 scale data (used by William Anders, Apollo 8 astronaut) that I'm letting go. The parcel will be insured (at my cost) at the buyer's request. It will be sent (by the buyer's choice) by either Priority Mail or Parcel Post.

Payment by PayPal is preferred, but I will accept a check or money order in U.S. currency (if payment is by check, it will be shipped after the check clears). Interested persons can e-mail me at blackshire@acsalaska.net . Thank you for taking the time to look. The item is:

"Apollo 8 Command Module and Service Module Astronaut Familiarization Photographs Folder" -- I rescued this 3-ring black imitation leather binder from the "throw out" stack of books and documents at the Miami Space Transit Planetarium when I worked there from the late 1980s to the early 1990s. Jack F. Horkheimer (the Planetarium Director) and the late Art Smith (the Planetarium Curator) knew many of the Gemini and Apollo astronauts and got goodies like this from them after they were no longer needed. The notation on the inside of the front cover reads: "Book used by Bill Anders (Apollo 8) to study components Apollo spacecraft." (James Lovell, Frank Borman, and William Anders were the Apollo 8 crew.) It contains thirty 8" X 10" color and black & white photographs of the Apollo 8 Command Module and Service Module in transparent plastic sleeve-pages, all taken by North American Aviation photographers. Most of them are slightly to quite "wavy," but they are crisp and bright. (Placing them under heavy books would make them perfectly flat again.) The price is $25 (plus $15 for Priority Mail postage -or- $10 for Parcel Post postage).

I'll try to give it a good home...and show it around amongst my Boeing colleagues as well. :D

I was just lucky to have been looking at "new posts" 20 minutes after the hoss hisself posted...and it took me about a minute to decide to go for it. *Very* uncharacteristic for me.

I have other items--that one was sitting on top of my chest of drawers. I'm still going through the boxes.
