I am just curious, who has built the designs in the free plans from the Apogee newsletter, and which are your favorites? Here is a link to the RockSim files of these designs.

Yes, that is what started me wondering about it. I am thinking about starting up again, but only if I am sure I can sustain things. I too was disappointed that Shrockets became OOP.

Alright, alright, ya got me! Busted. There, are you happy now? :p :D :chuckle:

I DL'd the archived plans from Apogee, and the RockSim files from EMRR, some time ago. I thought that the designs were all really cool, and I intended to build every one. Really, I did... :o

Now that you have outed me as a slacker, I guess I'm just going to have to get to work on them.

Geez!

That's not all of them, but is all that I've built, I think. There are at least 1-2 other published ones in the Apogee e-zines that I haven't gotten to, plus a couple others that if not "published" are at least out there in every true fan's stash of plans. I'm remembering something like a glider...

Of the list above, my favorite is the one with the "Eat this E.T." decal--I think the Bolero. All-time favorite Shrox is the Alien 8, though, hands-down. Built an original, and the Flis reproduction remains one of the only Fliskits I don't have, probably because it is so close to the original as to not be worth the bucks from me for a duplicate.

The FlisKits Alien8 is pretty close to original, except Jim turned the ping pong balls upside down...

I too must admit to being a slacker (or would that be SHlacker). I have
your Apogee plans tucked away for the right time...

I built the Star Shuttle (just posted pics yesterday in the RG section).

I've also built the SHX-15B (not free) a couple of times. Lost the first
at NARAM-46 and other about a year ago at TTRA.

I'm currently working the math on the SHX Ripley from the 2007 EMRR
calendar cover. (Thanks again for sending the Lightwave file, BTW!)

I certainly would welcome new Shrocket kits!

Hey Douglas!
I'd like to be first in line for a Star Shuttle and a Vipox kit. Several others, too, assuming you get going again!

Doug,

count me as another that'll buy any kit/design you'd like to put out there.

Requesting the Sarah Connor and the Ripley please!

Later,

No plans from Shrox but I did build a Sarah Conner. I kinda changed it a tiny bit since I modelled it just from Shrox's picture.

So I renamed it the John Conner.

No I haven't flown it yet.

I have drawings if Shrox wants be to post them. I was going to work out some decals eventually.

That did come out nice! I wish I had thought of it. Oh, wait, I did...

Hi. I finally had a chance to catch up with all the forums posts and just came accross this one. I too am very interested in the Ripley. I managed to clean up a picture of it and have gotten a bit along on a RockSim file. Here are both. Hope they help. If you have anything to add to the .rkt file please do so and send me the improvements.

P.S. the .rkt file is in V9

Well, I guess if a Buick and a Camaro could be said to be similar...

Side by side they look a lot different but I have to admit that the first time I saw the image of your model the Botany Bay was the first thing I thought of. It's a great design.
