NASA, Cape Canaveral, Florida -- Premieres Tuesday, June 17, at 11:30 p.m. ET
Lawrence embarks on a personal quest to prove his late father completely wrong about the U.S. Space Program. He goes behind the scenes at NASA's Kennedy Space Center to stand under a shuttle in the shop, visit a launchpad and learn the truth about space flight from a real astronaut. All this inspires Lawrence. Filled with the belief that he has the right stuff, he decides to undergo astronaut training to become the first English reporter blasted into space. It's a quest requiring discipline, commitment and a willingness to get very, very dizzy.

Lawrence and his film crew attended the October, 2007, Northeast Florida Association of Rocketry (NEFAR) launch (http://www.payloadbay.com/article-nefars-october-2007-launch.html) and filmed segments that may appear in the episode. The "outakes" from the show on the Travel Channel web site (http://www.travelchannel.com/Video_&_Photos/Video_Detail?playerId=1388782660&categoryId=1381648282&lineupId=1507859952) feature NEFAR's Robb Haskins and Lawrence retrieving Robb's Patriot after an M-motor flight.

I just watched the episode. During the segments filmed at the NEFAR (http://www.nefar.net/)launch, Gary Dahlke (http://www.payloadbay.com/article-gary-dahlke.html) and Robb Haskins (http://www.payloadbay.com/article-robb-haskins.html) are featured with their L and M-motor rockets. (Gary and Robb also received "Special Thanks" credits at the end of the show.)

The first large rocket launched is Gary's L-powered rocket (http://www.payloadbay.com/gallery/v/nefar-launches/2007-10-13/2007-10-13+14-17-39.jpg.html). A minute later, Gary is interviewed showing off a segment of a propellant core.

After Gary's rocket is again shown lifting off, Lawrence interviews Roger Smith (who?!) about Roger and Bracha's "Akavish" rockets. Then our Big Daddy Akavish (http://www.payloadbay.com/index.php?page=Results&search=akavish) is shown in flight. The rocket flies perfectly - every time. Yes, every time ... every single time that a video crew is not filming the flight! The Akavish is camera-shy, I guess.

Dr. Sue (http://www.payloadbay.com/index.php?page=Results&search=dr.+sue) makes a brief appearance before Robb Haskins makes Lawrence laugh with a Freudian reference. Then Lawrence joins Robb to prepare his 1/4 scale Patriot.

The onboard video supposedly from Robb's flight is, I believe, from Jimmy Yawn (http://www.jamesyawn.com/). Jimmy is credited with "Additional Video" at the end of the show.

Just before the NEFAR segment ends, you'll spot myself, my wife, our dog, and our pet Akavish.

Other rockets seen in the show include Scott Borders's Quest for Fire and Steve Pollack's Upscale Orbital Transport.

The segments about NASA are also entertaining with terrific new and archive footage of KSC and the shuttle. The "garage" Lawrence visits is the Orbital Processing Facility where Gary works when he's not building his own rockets.
