I now have a domain name for YORF. You can now get to this site by going to www.oldrocketforum.com. The original way of getting here by going to http://forums.rocketshoppe.com will always continue to work as well. I just find it easier going to a regular website address vs a sub-domain address. If you do start using the method of going to www.oldrocketforum.com, you'll need to re-login to the forum.

If you setup a "301" redirect from www.oldrocketforum.com to http://forums.rocketshoppe.com, then visitors won't have to re-login.
You can add something like to following to your .htaccess file:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} oldrocketforum.com$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://forums.rocketshoppe.com/$1 [L,R=301]
Or .. if you want oldrocketforums.com to be the "standard" URL, use:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^forums.rocketshoppe.com$ [NC]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^oldrocketforum.com$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.oldrocketforum.com/$1 [L,R=301]

Thanks for the tip, Roger. I'll play with that later and see how it works.

resurrecting an old thread, I know, but today http://forums.rocketshoppe.com stopped working for me...I was lazy and never updated my bookmark...
I looked at the notification emails from recent postings and found the https://www.oldrocketforum.com domain name. I changed my bookmark and things work again. It didn't make me logon again, it just worked.

Had the exact same issue myself. Reset my bookmark and I also was good to go. Maybe Scott can enlighten us a bit to what may have happened.

Everyone "should" be using the regular domain vs the sub-domain anyhow, but the sub-domain is supposed to work. I have my webhost working on fixing the issue.
https://www.oldrocketforum.com should always work.

I thought I did change over back when this was announced, but maybe copying an old backup of bookmarks from another computer, etc. When it happened this morning, I recalled this post and tracked it down.

The issue should now be fixed. forums.rocketshoppe.com is again accessible. I still recommend people switch over to oldrocketforum.com though.

Hi Scott,
Thank you for all you do and especially thank you for the wonderful gift of the free service you provide to everyone on YORF! People often do not realize, appreciate, or acknowledge what blessings they have and how valuable those gifts are that they have been given until those blessings are suddenly interrupted or have gone away for some reason. Hopefully, this slight hiccup with the url will help remind folks to acknowledge and appreciate you even more. You are a blessing and you are greatly appreciated! Thank you for all your kindness! May the Lord bless you greatly!
Thankfully, we are also reminded once again this Easter weekend of the greatest gift of all, our precious Lord, who made the ultimate sacrifice for each one of us. Scott, may you, your family, and everyone on this forum, along with their families, have a very blessed and happy Easter! We all have much to be thankful for!
Kind regards,
Jeff Jenkins
