I've completed the build of my latest purchase, that of the RSR's Atlas - V New Horizons model ordered from Sirius Rocketry recently. It was announced that their kits are going OOP until next summer to retool their manufacturing, when they should resume production.

Overall a very attractive and handsome model. Suppose to fly with the C11-3 and D12-5, but as heavy as a model of this size is, I'll have to take another look at using the five second delay of the D12.

Thank you! The empty weight is about 6.2 oz (much of it in the nose, due to the 3D made plastic parts on the main body section). I have yet to install the shock cord and 3/16" launch lug.

Very nice work. Might try to find one of those.

That turned out great, Dave. Mine ended up at 7.7oz w/o motor, so I only fly it on a D12-3, which gets maybe 400'.

Thanks Paul, but I was only assuming that's the weight of mine based on the kit's specs. I just found my weighing scale (a postal scale I bought years back) and after I take a quick shower, I'm pulling it out and will weigh the model and see exactly what the empty weight is. I'll be back.........

Ok, just weighed it. Comes to 6.6 oz on my scale. Guess I'll also use a D12-3 as well.
